COURSE DESCRIPTION
"** Tribal governments must realize the necessity of formally adopting Ethic Code(s) and/Ordinances, to protect the integrity of the government process from criticism and unwarranted governmental conduct that brings disrepute upon the governing body of the Tribe(s).
** The days of unfounded criticism of tribal legislative, executive and judicial branches of government can be dissipated and minimized through means of the adoption, of a Code of Ethic(s). Such a code of ordinance must specifically address the parameters of conduct of all elected or appionted officials, including tribal employees, while serving thier respective Tribe(s).
**Finally, a Code of Ethics for tribal governments can assist greatly in the protection of the general welfare of the membership, by the maintenance of ethical standards, which apply solely to governmental officials of the Tribe. This will help to instill confidence in the tribal political system, when those codes have been drafted with the required degree of enforcement authority, necessary to assure that all tribal governmental officials abide by the established ethical standards of the Tribe."
