COURSE DESCRIPTION

"* Many federally recognized Indain tribes, colonies, bands, rancherias, pueblos and native villages do not understand the current law relating to their authority to zone and regulate their own lands and lands adjacent to their boundaries, even lands owned and controlled by non-Indians. *The continued growth of tribal land bases and the need to regulate development, not only residential areas, but as well, agricultural, economic commercial and designated cultural lands is today vital to the continued protection of tribal land bases. Further, Zoning Ordinances and Codes, assist in the protection of traditional, sacred sites and support the health and general welfare of tribal membership. * This Seminar developed by Montana & Associates will teach participants what is required for a detailed and effectively drafted Zoning Ordinance/Code. Our instructor who has the experience and educational background in policy and planning will guide participants through the process of development, implementation and enforcement of tribal Zoning Ordinances/Codes."
