COURSE DESCRIPTION

"*** All Tribes should be committed to protecting their sovereignty through ordinances in all civil regulatory areas, including, providing and maintaining a safe, healthy and efficient work enviroment. Policy & Procedures must be written to cover any and all issues relating to the work enviroment - from hiring, promotion, demotion & termination, tribe’s and thier enterprises must adequately protect the employee, as well as the Tribe itself. *** Without adequate tribal ordinances and policy & procedures, tribes will continue to suffer internal friction and strife relating to employee disputes and complaints, including jurisdictional disputes with local governments. An adequate and effectively drafted Ordinance and/or Policy & Procedures Manual will assist Human Resources, Personnel Departments, Tribal Officials and other Management Personnel and their regulatory authority. *** This seminar will instruct each participant in the most up-to-date information relating to Policy & Procedures for major companies and governmental entities. Further, instruct participants in how to draft any type of Ordinance. This course is designed to assist Tribal Governments and Gaming Operations in the interface of any and all duties and responsibilities of each department to allow for a smooth and the efficient operations of tribal government and gaming operations. Gaming operations will benefit from the instruction of MICS as per 25 CFR Part 542 relating to minimum Internal Control Standards."
